Music down through the years has certainly changed somewhat with the title of this post in mind, yes ‘Heartbreak’. 🙂 So, I thought it was a good post idea to share some playlists that I’ve come across from the 80’s and so on. Bear with them as well, because obviously the people who made the playlists don’t update and delete ‘deleted’ video’s, so just skip them in the playback. Eventually, I’ll be making a page here entitled ‘Heartbreak Station’ ~ with my own playlists, in the meantime enjoy clicking through some of these.
My taste in music can be called eclectic. My fave genre would have to be funk but I do enjoy other sorts varying from pop, smooth jazz, classic rock as well as pub rock. Lately it seems I have been grooving to house and electronica too. My main focus today will be on Australian groups. I have heard some really great groups and solo artists from Australia since I moved here. It seems a lot of groups think they have to go the USA to make it big or leave their mark on the entertainment world but this list I am putting out today are the top ten that I love.
There have been groups that have reached icon status from Australia. The biggest one has to be INXS followed by Men At Work and Midnight Oil. The Little River Band made it big in the 70s. There are so…
Daft Punk is an electronic music duo consisting of French musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (born 8 February 1974) and Thomas Bangalter (born 3 January 1975).[2][3][4][5] Daft Punk reached significant popularity in the late 1990s housemovement in France and met with continued success in the years following, combining elements of house with synthpop.[3][4][6] The duo is credited with producing songs that are considered essential in the French house scene. The group was managed from 1996 to 2008 by Pedro Winter (Busy P), the head of Ed Banger Records.[7] Early in the group’s career, the band members were strongly influenced by groups such as The Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones.[8]
Bangalter and de Homem-Christo were originally in a band called Darlin’, which disbanded after a short period of time, leaving the two to experiment musically on their own. The duo became Daft Punk, releasing its critically acclaimed debut albumHomework in 1997. The 2001 release of Discovery was even more successful, driven by the club singles “One More Time“, “Digital Love“, and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger“.
Daft Punk is noted for its elaborate live shows, in which visual elements and effects are incorporated with the music. The group is known for its emphasis on visual and story components associated with their musical productions. Daft Punk is also known for its use of disguises, particularly the ornate robot costumes, while in public and/or performing.

When people thought the earth was flat, they were wrong. When people thought the earth was spherical, they were wrong. But if you think that thinking the earth is spherical is just as wrong as thinking the earth is flat, then your view is wronger than both of them put together. (Isaac Asimov)
